The first thing I can say is that my time here has flown by and I am surprised to already be writing about my first month.
I joined the Leapfrog team at the end of February coming from a Gloucester-based marketing and PR firm where I worked as a junior account executive primarily in B2B PR and wrote for a county business magazine.
After attending food and drink trade shows in the past and dealing with clients in the restaurant and hospitality sectors, I really wanted to branch out into food and hospitality PR with the idea in mind to specialise in this sector.
From day one I have been given plenty of opportunities to work with Leapfrog’s many clients and I feel that I have integrated well with the team who have been very welcoming.
Building forward features lists and carrying out market research for new and existing businesses has been a great way to familiarise myself with the target publications for this sector and build a better understanding of our different clients’ demographics.
Writing case studies, press releases, e-bulletin content and posting on client websites has allowed me to hone my writing skills and try my hand at more technical styles.
On the social media side, I have been tasked with looking after a national client account and I work on putting together numerous client social media timetables.
Working with media relations is a sole part of my role and it has been really interesting to make new contacts and communicate with various national and international publications in order to get coverage for various client accounts.
Leapfrog is a very forward thinking agency and it is organised, the communication with clients is planned and regular and I feel that this regular contact allows everything to run smoothly.
Looking to the future, I can safely say I feel very happy to be part of such a hardworking team that really care about their clients. I have a lot more to learn but the important thing is that I’ve learnt a lot and I’m looking forward to growing more in my role.
