Andigestion

Objectives

To highlight to households that local anaerobic digestion company Andigestion recycles food waste and turns it into green energy and organic fertiliser for farmers.

Strategy

Use local media channels to communicate to consumers that they can recycle their large Halloween pumpkins in a variety of ways.

Tactics

Leapfrog forged a partnership with two key local pumpkin sellers, Over farm Shop in Gloucester and Primrose Vale Farm Shop in Cheltenham.   Leapfrog organised for Andigestion food waste recycling bins to be set up at the sites and printed a leaflet telling consumers that they could return their pumpkin to have it recycled once used for Halloween. A photo shoot was set up for the local press and local radio interviews organised.

Results

Some great local media coverage and the recycling bins were stuffed full with used pumpkins when they were collected!
