Raise funds to build and develop Ibba Girls Boarding School through the annual fundraising campaign called Pencil Power

Create some buzz around Pencil Power including celebrity support

The campaign was launched at an event in the crypt at St Martins in the Field on Trafalgar Square, featuring a 7’ giant pencil. The campaign encouraged people to donate and post a pencil portrait or photo of themselves, with celebrities including Stephen Fry and Fiona Fullerton signing up to the campaign and participating in the the launch Twitter ‘thunderclap’ which reached more than 300 000 people. Baroness Estelle Morris, Margaret Sentamu, wife of the Archbishop of York, and Baroness Caroline Cox sent supporting messages for the launch.

The funds raised from the campaign contributed to enabling the second intake of 40 girls to join the school in March 2015.
