PFF Packaging: Opening of £1m Innovation Centre

The PFF Packaging Group is one of the UK’s leading independent plastic food packaging manufacturers, and delivers innovative and sustainable packaging solutions to the UK’s major food manufacturers and retailers.  The company, which was established in 1993, opened a new £1m Innovation Centre in Washington, Tyne & Wear, in June 2016.

Objectives

A three month project to organise and oversee the launch and opening event for the PFF Packaging Group’s new £1m Innovation Centre.

Strategy

Stage a stylish launch event for PFF customers and suppliers to attend, maximising both regional and trade press coverage.

Tactics

Leapfrog managed the event from concept to execution. Everything from developing a critical path and time plan at the start of the project, to issuing invitations and managing RSVPs, drafting guest and information packs, working with PFF’s senior management team to develop briefing opportunities and a programme of timed factory tours for guests, drafting the keynote speech, sourcing and briefing a photographer to attend on the day, managing press attendance and staffing the event on the day.

Leapfrog also created new Twitter and Facebook pages to help build up a buzz prior to the event. The social media campaign was also managed by our team ensuring regular updates were posted and encouraging interactions from key media, business organisations and influencers within the industry

Results

The event attracted a large number of invited guests and generated high quality coverage across all key trade and regional business titles, both in print and digital media.
