Sometimes things just don’t go right. When that happens, you need someone on hand to guide and advise you, to ensure that your business not just survives but continues to thrive.
For effective management of an issue or crisis, you will need a plan. Just as all food businesses require a HACCP plan, they also need an effective Crisis Communications Plan. We work with clients to develop such a plan and ensure it is kept up to date with an annual review.
We worked with our clients Foodchain Europe during the ‘horse meat’ scandal setting up interviews and media briefings for expert ‘food fraud’ comment from our client Cert ID. Our clients are often called on to give expert opinion to the media on issues such as supply chain, food authenticity, food safety and hygiene.
We also work extensively on slower burning key issues for some of our clients, particularly trade associations that need to influence, brief and lobby on certain topics. We have developed strategies and undertaken media briefings for topics such as carrier bag charges, litter and banning of foam street food containers.
We also offer media training for senior executives who have a role in the communications plan, including role play and rehearsals, to ensure that should the proverbial hit the fan, you are fully prepared.
